22 week pregnancy update!

I'm can't believe that I'm already 22 weeks along! The pregnancy is sure going by much faster this time around. I'm staying fairly busy and I'm guessing that has a lot to do with it. I didn't take any 22 week belly photos, but here are some I took while in Idaho last week.

I didn't get a chance to link up with this tutorial last as I was out of town the past weekend, but I loved how this turned out and decided to go ahead and share it anyhow. If you are interested in learning how to edit a photo to drawing, the tutorial can be found if you click here

The Friday before we left we had our fetal echo cardiogram, basically an in depth ultrasound of baby's heart. Here is a quick clip of the tech catching a glimpse of baby yawning and some of the other ultrasound photos of baby. It's so sweet! The tech also confirmed once again that she is still a girl.

Baby's Size: At the ultrasound 2 weeks ago, baby was weighing in at around 12oz. She was measuring in the 50% and exactly measuring to her due date.

Weight gain: I know that I have gained some more weight. I have an appointment next week, but I'm guessing based off the scale that I've gained a total of 5-7lbs.

Gender: Confirmed again that she is still a girl.

Maternity clothes?: I'm wearing maternity shorts/pants, but sticking to my regular tops. I feel too frumpy in maternity tops.

Sleep: I'm still sleeping great! Crazy dreams, but I wake up feeling wonderful every morning.

Movement: Miss E moves all the time now. This is my favorite time in pregnancy.

Food Cravings: Potstickers!?! Is that weird or what, lol.

Symptoms: Heartburn comes and goes. Started feeling a lot of braxton hicks contractions a couple of weeks ago.

Best Moment(s) this Week: When my hubby and I are sitting together on the couch and he puts his hand on my belly and feels baby moving. I'm not sure what he is feeling, but I love these moments.

What I am looking forward to: We aren't having a baby shower, but I'm going to take my daughter with me to register anyhow. I think it will be some good bonding time for us girls!

35 weeks in, 35 weeks out

Today Parker is 35 weeks old. 35 weeks is the number of weeks I carried Parker in the womb.

Parker's 22 week fetal echocardiogram ultrasound. Parker had extra ultrasounds because during his 12 week ultrasound they noticed he had an increase in fluid around his nuchal fold and he had hydrophrenosis(increased fluid in his kidneys.) Sometimes this combination could be related to a potential heart malformation, but Parker's heart looked perfect!

28 weeks 12 weeks to go....

It's amazing to think that in 9 weeks Parker will be full term! My due date is only 12 weeks away. I doubt my OB will let me go to my due date with how big he already is. We had an ultrasound this past friday and he is weighing in at 3lbs 2oz. WOW! At our 22 week ultrasound he was weighing 1 lb 3oz, so he basically tripled his weight in only 6 weeks. He is back to his breech position but we were able to get some great 3D pictures of his face.

I have finally finished shopping for all the larger baby items. I picked up this gorgeous Peg Perego Prima Pappa high chair for $18 at a garage sale down the street. I wasn't in the biggest hurry to find a high chair since I probably won't even use it till around 5 or 6 months but this was a deal I couldn't refuse. It was in excellent condition. I love when people take care of their furniture :)

I also have nearly finished the nursery, I still have the comforter to hang, and few other wall hangings, curtains to purchase, and a bookshelf to find. I have posted some pictures previously but here is an updated picture.

It has been a busy but very wonderful start of this week :) My mother in law flew in this past Friday to visit and join us for an early baby shower(I really wanted her to be there for our baby shower so we planned it for when she would be here.) We decorated the nursery, had the baby BBQ shower, ate lots of food, relaxed, and enjoyed every minute of her visit. It seemed to take forever for this weekend to come but I knew it would just fly by and soon we would have to say goodbye to my mother in law and resume our work week.

The BBQ baby shower went great, I was so touched by all the family and friends that came out to celebrate with Nolan and I the upcoming arrival of Parker. It was held at my Aunt Sharon's house and my cousin Colleen helped with a lot of the decorations. We ate TONS..at least I did. Had fun with some games. Shared stories...Nolan even held my little cousin(this is a BIG milestone, Nolan is so terrified that he will break a baby, LOL.)

The cake was made by our good friend Jennifer Molinet, isn't it beautiful?

On Friday we also had the Fetal Echocardiogram. Parker looked great, his heart looked wonderful. His kidneys were no longer enlarged. He was bouncing around and of course covering his face and crossing his ankles. All of these he has done at each ultrasound so it makes getting a good picture of his face tough. My hubby was hilarious, he had the tech make sure that he was a boy...again, of course Parker is definately all boy. Glad to know that everything looks healthy on our little man.

How far along: 22 weeks
Weight gain: haven't weighed recently
Stretch marks: No changes
Symptoms: Still feeling pretty good, have a good amount of energy for the most part.
Sleep: I go to bed by around 9 or 10p and I'm usually up by 6 or 7am. Throughout the night I toss and turn still. I loved sleeping on my back so this side sleeping is really tough to get into the habit of.
Best Moment this Week: Seeing my MIL, purchasing Parker's crib and setting it up, my MIL getting to see Parker's ultrasound on Friday. Knowing that Parker is healthy and growing strong. He is weighing in at 1 lb 3 ounces as of last Friday.
Food Cravings: Just whatever was fastest to make :)
Labor Signs: BH only
Belly Button in or out?: In
Wedding rings on or off?: On but getting tighter
Movement: Lot's of movement
Milestones: My MIL and my daughter felt Parker moving this past week :)

18 Week Bump

Photobucket

I'm a little late posting this week but, I have been busy with work and trying to get some photography done for the website I'm putting together. It was sort of nice to stay busy the past few days, made them go by much faster. I'm going to do my post a little different this week since most of the questionnare stats I have been filling out haven't really changed..I don't think. Oh, one thing that is different is I did buy maternity clothes. I haven't been able to fit in my jeans comfortably for awhile now so I have been wearing cute sweats. I decided that when I'm out of a date with my hubby, sweats wont cut it. I bought a cute pair of jean capris, plaid capris, jeans, a halter dress, and 2 cute tank tops. I paid maybe $30 for all of it thanks to some really cute consignment stores in our area. You can see my super cute maternity jeans in my 18 week photo. Ok on to the weeks events.

What's new this week?!?

Well, we had our anatomy ultrasound this afternoon and it went very well. We were able to confirm that we are having a little boy, we are so thrilled. Names had already been picked out so our little boy will be "Parker Dean." I suppose I have to give a little history of where the names come from. Parker, as in Peter Parker, as in Spiderman. Ok, so for those of you who know my hubby I don't need to explain. For those of you who don't, well my hubby is probably one of the biggest Spiderman fans ever. So after juggling back and forth on a sensible name that portrays his love for Spiderman we agreed on Parker. As for the middle name we chose Dean, this is a special name since I had an Uncle that passed away when I was younger named Dean. I have always loved that name. For my hubby this is sort of a family tradition. When we were told at our 12 week scan that we were possibly having a boy, we actually had already started calling our little one, Parker. It seemed so natural even though we didn't know for sure.

So how is Parker doing?

He is growing strong, and is very healthy from what we can see. They measured his femur, "belly", head circumference, humerus, and some parts in the brain. All say that he is growing as he should be. He is now measuring about 9 days bigger than our EDD but I don't think our OB will change the due date, he has consistantly been a week ahead and she said she was going to keep the original date. He weighs approx. 11 ounces, and she actually didn't measure his crown to rump length but I'm sure he falls in the mid 19 week length, about 6 inches long. We heard his heartbeat and saw his heart. It's so amazing what you can see on these ultrasounds. Parker is very active, even as I type he is kicking me. Nothing hard, it actually tickles a bit more than anything but it is soothing. He is positioned with his head about 3 inches above my belly button and his feet in the area above my pubic bone(where I feel the kicking), so breech position though nothing to worry about right now. I added 3 photos from the DVD we recieved from the ultrasound. We tried to get better 3D photos but the way Parker was positioned and how he kept covering up his face with his hands it was hard to get all the face without some obstruction. We already know a few things are little one loves, to cross his legs at his ankles and to touch his face. I love the 3D picture, his face already looks perfect and adorable, my little prince.

N/T Scan

Today we had our NT scan and consultation. It started out frustrating, I had called the office on Monday to confirm my appointment time and the tech had told me my appointment was at 2:30p and to arrive a little before. Well she was wrong, she had read the wrong appointment time and I was 30 minutes late :/ We were in there for about 2 hours because we had to wait for an opening. Anyhow, the appointment itself was amazing. We got to see Baby Ellis bouncing all around, measuring 13 weeks 3 days. I couldnt stop laughing because she would try to take a measurement and the little one would bounce all around, at one point when she was looking at his feet and legs he decided to position himself indian style. The tech made a guess as to the sex with about 90% probability as being a boy. The MD came in to review the results with me and said, "Nope it's a 95% chance of being a boy!" Either way we are happy :)

I just love looking at the ultrasound photos and the dvd we got! Here are some of the screenshots from the dvd, when watching them on the dvd the baby moves so much its hard to really see so I paused and took screen shots and saved to a picture program. These are some of my favorite pics. Of course I found a great "nub" shot ;)

Baby Ellis Official Stats 3/24/10:

CRL: 7.33 cm or 2.88 inches
Heartbeat: 153bpm

Baby's 1st Ultrasound

Photobucket

We had our first u/s appointment today. The baby looks healthy, we heard the heartbeat which was so amazing.(132bpm) Baby is measuring 6 weeks 6 days which is a few days longer than my EDD from my ovulation date and 4 days longer than my EDD from my LMP. I talk to my OB next week and she will decide after looking at the u/s what EDD she would like to use. At this point anywhere between 9/29-10/3. This was a vaginal u/s. If you look at the picture the whitish halo around the baby is what is forming to be the placenta :)
