13 Weeks!
Almost the 2nd trimester...YAY! All the sites and my OB says the official start of the 2nd trimester is 14 weeks. I had my original endocrinologist appointment for late April well, my OB wasn't happy and pushed me into an appointment this upcoming Monday. I love my OB!
From babycenter.com
Baby Ellis has reached the size of a medium shrimp and weighs nearly an ounce(Length: almost 3 inches, head to bottom.)Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, his veins and organs are clearly visible through his still-thin skin, and his body is starting to catch up with his head — which makes up just a third of his body size now.
How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? When I get on the scale at home, I haven't gained any weight but I sure feel like I have.
Maternity clothes? Still no
Stretch marks? About the same as before
Sleep? Still pretty tired, been getting up more often now to pee. Before it was only once per night, now its 3 to 4 times.
Movement? Possibly! I definately felt like someone was taking a feather and moving it along the inside of me just above my pubic bone. All the books and websites I have read said that it's possible around 14 weeks for second time mothers to feel the baby since we can recognize what we are feeling.
Food cravings? Hamburgers and berries(strawberries and raspberries mainly) and this week I have been craving water like crazy.
Symptoms? Fatigue, slight nausea, and itchy
Gender? 95% chance of a boy
Labor signs? None
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss: Nothing, I'm enjoying my pregnancy :)
What I am looking forward to: Having a distinct baby belly, not just fat.
Milestones: Almost to the 2nd Trimester. I will wait on nursery stuff till we know 100% its a boy.

N/T Scan
Today we had our NT scan and consultation. It started out frustrating, I had called the office on Monday to confirm my appointment time and the tech had told me my appointment was at 2:30p and to arrive a little before. Well she was wrong, she had read the wrong appointment time and I was 30 minutes late :/ We were in there for about 2 hours because we had to wait for an opening. Anyhow, the appointment itself was amazing. We got to see Baby Ellis bouncing all around, measuring 13 weeks 3 days. I couldnt stop laughing because she would try to take a measurement and the little one would bounce all around, at one point when she was looking at his feet and legs he decided to position himself indian style. The tech made a guess as to the sex with about 90% probability as being a boy. The MD came in to review the results with me and said, "Nope it's a 95% chance of being a boy!" Either way we are happy :)
I just love looking at the ultrasound photos and the dvd we got! Here are some of the screenshots from the dvd, when watching them on the dvd the baby moves so much its hard to really see so I paused and took screen shots and saved to a picture program. These are some of my favorite pics. Of course I found a great "nub" shot ;)
Baby Ellis Official Stats 3/24/10:
CRL: 7.33 cm or 2.88 inches
Heartbeat: 153bpm

12 Weeks!!
I'm late again adding a post, had a busy end of the week and weekend. I have had a little bit of nausea again this weekend, still fighting fatigue, however my allergy and coughing has subsided. I can now feel my uterus right above my hairline, especially when I have a full bladder(which is usually when I wake up in the middle of the night.) I also notice it more when standing or laying down on a hard surface. We have our NT u/s in 2 days, I'm so anxious and ready to see our baby again. My results came back from the bloodwork that was drawn last week and it looks like I have hyperthyroid, it's very slight but I have to see an endocrinologist in April.
Here is what babycenter.com says about our baby this week.
Our baby is just over 2 inches long and weighs a 1/2 ounce. Kind of amazing that the baby is the same size as a lime. The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be.
How far along? 12weeks and change ;)
Total weight gain/loss? I think I have gained some more weight this past week, I'm so hungry..just about every 2 hours. Making sure I have lots of fruit for snacking.
Maternity clothes? Nope but I haven't been wearing any jeans or anything that isn't 100% cotton...my stomach and waistline have been so sensitive and itchy.(This is one symptom I do remember having when I was pregnant with Nessa)
Stretch marks? About the same as before
Sleep? My energy is a down a bit again, but it definately has more to do with me tossing and turning at night.
Movement? Nothing yet :(
Food cravings? Hamburgers and berries(strawberries and raspberries mainly)
Symptoms? Fatigue, slight nausea, and itchy
Gender? OH! I hope we find out in 2 days, I can't wait to start shopping :)
Labor signs? None
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss: Nothing, I'm enjoying my pregnancy :)
What I am looking forward to: Seeing our baby in 2 days and feeling our baby move.
Milestones: Being able to feel my uterus, and almost at the end of the first trimester.

11 Weeks
I'm a little late posting this week, it's been a busy and crazy week.
According to babycenter.com, our baby is about the size of a fig or approximately 1 1/2 inches long from head to bottom. Hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums, and some of the bones are beginning to harden. Baby is already busy kicking and stretching, and tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as the body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that the diaphragm is forming.
Aww, hiccupping...how cute!
We had our 2nd OB appointment today, it was pushed up a couple weeks since they found some abnormalities in my blood results regarding my Thyroid and I was a little worried so they drew a full Thyroid panel today. We tried to hear the baby's heartbeat via a doppler instead of the u/s like last time but it looks like baby is being elusive. If he/she is anything like Vanessa, I won't be fully showing until my 6/7 month.
How far along? 11weeks and change ;)
Total weight gain/loss? According to my OB I have gained only one pound so far.
Maternity clothes? Still haven't had the need for maternity clothes but I have been window shopping for things I like.
Stretch marks? I think I may have some new ones on my boobs. I don't remember the ones I'm seeing as being there before.
Sleep? My energy is a little better during the day, still a little fatigue but not dozing off as before. I was working 7 days a week and requested to have 2 days off and I think that really helped.
Movement? Nothing yet :(
Food cravings? Salty stuff
Symptoms? My asthma that hasn't bothered me in 10 years has started to act up strong...looks like I traded nausea for constant coughing and difficulty breathing.
Gender? A week and a half till our NT u/s appointment...grow baby grow and please don't be shy, we want to know
Labor signs? None
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss: Nothing, I'm enjoying my pregnancy :)
What I am looking forward to: Seeing our baby in a week and a half and feeling our baby move.
Milestones: My nausea has seemed to fade some, I never was throwing up just a feeling of constant motion sickness.

10 Weeks
From here on out I want to blog about my changes each week. I'm signed up on 4 different "pregnancy" websites and I just love how each website compares the size of our baby. From kumquat to prune I even had one site that said garden beetle, a little gross for me to imagine my baby like a garden beetle.
Our baby this week:
(Babycenter.com)
Although baby is barely the size of a kumquat -- a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom -- and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby now has completed the most critical portion of development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
I saw a few other ladies do a little questionnaire on their blog each week and I thought that was a great idea.
How far along? 10weeks
Total weight gain/loss? give or take 2lbs depending on the time of day
Maternity clothes? Not yet but I did buy the bella band, makes my jeans a bit more comfortable.
Stretch marks? No new ones, I have very faint ones on my side and inner thighs from my daughter.
Sleep? I'm tired all day yet falling asleep is a struggle, not to mention getting up to pee atleast once each night.
Movement? Nothing yet
Food cravings? Not really
Gender? We are hoping that we will find out in 3weeks, our OB said it may be a possibility depending on the baby and the technician
Labor signs? None
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss: Nothing, I'm enjoying my pregnancy :)
What I am looking forward to: Our second u/s appointment in 3 weeks and feeling the baby's first movements
Milestones: Our baby graduated to fetus this week
