Tutorial Tuesday: The Golden Hour
Yes, I do realize that it is Friday and not Tuesday. Anyhow, It's been a busy week and especially a busy day. The next thing is getting my toddler to take pictures. I learned one trick on getting Parker to stay in one spot for more than a minute and that was to let him play with the hose. With temps reaching 115 today, it was also the perfect activity for him to do.

When Parker would first play with the water hose or even the sprinkler, he couldn't stand the water getting in his face on or his head. That has changed!

I'm always telling Parker to wash his armpits when he is taking his shower or bath because they get stinky, lol.

I took this photo before I got smart and brought out the hose.

Tutorial Tuesday: Panning photos
This was a fun tutorial. I'm not so good at these types of pictures either. I think it took me about 15 pictures before one came out this way.

The picture was taken at the amusement park that is a couple blocks from the new place. Parker's first time on a ride by himself. I thought his face was just precious in this photo.

Tutorial Tuesday: Shooting Silhouettes
Couldn't get the linky picture to work, but here is the link to the tutorial being hosted by Ashley Sisk.
Our internet is up and running. The computers are all hooked up and I feel like we are settling a bit from the move. We still have quite a few boxes to unpack, but I already love it here.
Here is my try at shooting silhouettes. Although, I wish I could've started taking pictures earlier, I love all the colors that came through.
This is the view from our backyard at our new place.

Tutorial Tuesday: Making a lightbox
I was so excited when I saw Ashley from Ramblings and Photos and Branson of My Reflection of Something doing a new "Tutorial Tuesday" challenge.
I have been debating buying a photography lightbox to take pictures of the cloth diapers I'm making, but they are much too costly for me to purchase right now. The problem is that I have about 20 minutes every day that I can take photos because it's the only time the lighting is good in one of the bedrooms of our condo. That is not easy as it happens to be my Parker's room....and the door doesn't lock. So I'm always struggling with keeping him away while I taking the photos. When I saw that the first tutorial would be a lightbox, I jumped on the chance.
Here is the tutorial I followed. This took a total of 30 minutes...maybe. The longest was cutting out the holes. I will be re doing this using a larger box, but we had this box already lying around the house. I also used medium weight embroidery paper for the coverings over the holes since I didn't have any tracing paper at the time. You can't even tell in the final pictures that the white cardboard is too short, oops!

Love that lamp? Thrifted for $5!

I will definitely need to bring out the tripod for the next shoot. I will also be getting some help from my mom on the editing, at this point I was too tired to get to that point of this tutorial.

I'm so happy with the first try on this! I love how professional it makes my product photos look.

Here are so more photos from this product shoot I did. Thank you for visiting!
