So my hubby and I decided to start reading to Parker so he could get used to our voices. We went to the bookstore to pick out some baby books to read. So I pick out
This is such a classic, I loved reading this to my daughter when she was little (one of her first words was "moon" too)
So, what does my wonderful hubby pick out??
I love my hubby, he is so cute. He read it to Parker last night. What is great about my hubby's choice is that it puts me to sleep. ;)
I can't wait for FRIDAY!! Yay my mother in law comes into town. We are all so very excited to see her and spend some time with her. We will be getting Parker's crib and setting up the nursery together.
We have another ultrasound type appointment this Friday too. It's called a fetal echocardiogram. Our OB is pretty confident that everything is going to look great since his heart looked healthy at our 18week ultrasound but because the fluid behind Parker's neck at the 12 week NT scan was on the high side of normal she wanted me to have this done as a precaution.
How far along: 21 weeks
Weight gain: still at 8 pounds total
Stretch marks: No changes
Symptoms: My nausea is back a little, heartburn is pretty bad and I think that maybe triggering my nausea.

The stash so far...
I bought some boy clothes after the NT scan ultrasound, even though they weren't 100% sure it was a boy. Then after the gender scan I bought quite a few more. I love onesies and you can't have to many of those. My daughter wore those almost exclusively, especially here in AZ with the warmer weather. The first outfit is from Picaflor, that is the outfit we chose for the going home outfit, atleast for now unless I find a cuter one. It is so cute, has matching pants and there is the cutest teddy bear style beanie hat.
We are going to cloth diaper, I have been sewing already and have made 4 all in one diapers so far. I also made a "not so flat" diaper but didnt picture that one yet. I purchased 1 fitted diaper and 2 covers from a local boutique. I have also purchased a few more diapers from an online swap. I will be very excited to get those :D All in all we have a long way to go to complete the diaper stash. We want to have about 2 dozen all in ones, fitted, flats, and covers total before Parker arrives.
edit: I decided I really don't like the "Not so flat diaper" bleh. It's funky to use and no way my hubby could figure it out. I decided to download a One size pocket diaper and see how I liked it. It was easy to sew, maybe 20 minutes tops, and I love it...so far. I have to use a waterproof cover but, I'm very much ok with that. I have to sew so many more and the newest pattern I have will accomodate many sizes(which means less sewing), so I will be able to use them as Parker grows. The other ones I have sewn so far are size specific instead of a one size diaper.

19 weeks
I was late posting my last weekly update so that included all of my ultrasound information, which was this past Monday. Thursday my OB recieved the results from the ultrasound and called to move my next appointment up to review the ultrasounds. She said Parker looked very healthy, all the organs are there, brain looks good, hands, legs, head and feet look great. She wanted to talk to me about him being breech, not sure why since it's so early. She also wanted to talk to me about his growth since he is much bigger than the due date. Maybe she will change it? Who knows.
We finalized the theme and plans for the baby shower, we decided to do a co-ed baby BBQ. My wonderful aunt is hosting it at her house, and my wonderful friend is making this awesome cake, I'm so excited. My wonderful mother-in-law is coming into town at the end of the month and we want to make sure that we do everything we can to include her in all the baby stuff since she lives in Idaho. I had tossed around some ideas of throwing a mother/father blessing type shower but in the end I just want some close family members and friends to share in our excitement and it also kicks off the summer for most of the kids too.
The idea came from a member of BBC who sort of felt the same way as me about baby showers and she thought she would be doing a BBQ, so I did a search for Baby BBQ's and found this blog with a cute Baby BBQ idea. I did make my own invites due to time constraints(it's in 3 weeks) but I mimicked some of the idea from hers just a different design. I attached a picture of the front and back of the invite.
Time to make: 2-3 hrs(depends on how good you are with MSWord)
Total cost: $9.59 for 20(full color prints front and back) incl. 18 direction cards. I did bring my cardstock to Kinko's instead of the regular paper they use.

18 weeks & Gender Ultrasound
I'm a little late posting this week but, I have been busy with work and trying to get some photography done for the website I'm putting together. It was sort of nice to stay busy the past few days, made them go by much faster. I'm going to do my post a little different this week since most of the questionnare stats I have been filling out haven't really changed..I don't think. Oh, one thing that is different is I did buy maternity clothes. I haven't been able to fit in my jeans comfortably for awhile now so I have been wearing cute sweats. I decided that when I'm out of a date with my hubby, sweats wont cut it. I bought a cute pair of jean capris, plaid capris, jeans, a halter dress, and 2 cute tank tops. I paid maybe $30 for all of it thanks to some really cute consignment stores in our area. You can see my super cute maternity jeans in my 18 week photo. Ok on to the weeks events.
What's new this week?!?
Well, we had our anatomy ultrasound this afternoon and it went very well. We were able to confirm that we are having a little boy, we are so thrilled. Names had already been picked out so our little boy will be "Parker Dean." I suppose I have to give a little history of where the names come from. Parker, as in Peter Parker, as in Spiderman. Ok, so for those of you who know my hubby I don't need to explain. For those of you who don't, well my hubby is probably one of the biggest Spiderman fans ever. So after juggling back and forth on a sensible name that portrays his love for Spiderman we agreed on Parker. As for the middle name we chose Dean, this is a special name since I had an Uncle that passed away when I was younger named Dean. I have always loved that name. For my hubby this is sort of a family tradition. When we were told at our 12 week scan that we were possibly having a boy, we actually had already started calling our little one, Parker. It seemed so natural even though we didn't know for sure.
So how is Parker doing?
He is growing strong, and is very healthy from what we can see. They measured his femur, "belly", head circumference, humerus, and some parts in the brain. All say that he is growing as he should be. He is now measuring about 9 days bigger than our EDD but I don't think our OB will change the due date, he has consistantly been a week ahead and she said she was going to keep the original date. He weighs approx. 11 ounces, and she actually didn't measure his crown to rump length but I'm sure he falls in the mid 19 week length, about 6 inches long. We heard his heartbeat and saw his heart. It's so amazing what you can see on these ultrasounds. Parker is very active, even as I type he is kicking me. Nothing hard, it actually tickles a bit more than anything but it is soothing. He is positioned with his head about 3 inches above my belly button and his feet in the area above my pubic bone(where I feel the kicking), so breech position though nothing to worry about right now. I added 3 photos from the DVD we recieved from the ultrasound. We tried to get better 3D photos but the way Parker was positioned and how he kept covering up his face with his hands it was hard to get all the face without some obstruction. We already know a few things are little one loves, to cross his legs at his ankles and to touch his face. I love the 3D picture, his face already looks perfect and adorable, my little prince.
