Eliana is 8 months old!

Weight: approx 17lbs 8oz (25-50th percentile) 

Height: 26.75" long (25-50th percentile) 

Clothing size: Wears 9mo & 6-12 month 

Shoe size: size 3 or 4 depending on brand

Where do I start?!? Eliana is changing so much and it's happening so fast! 

At 8 months;

...can stand holding on with one hand. She has on a few occasions stood without any support, but not for long. 

...has mastered cruising(walking) around the furniture. I don't think she is too far off from actually walking. We will see in the next few months!!

...bear crawls FAST! 

...is getting into everything. Trash cans, drawers, cupboards....nothing is safe, LOL!

...has two teeth! Her second one broke the gums about a week after her first. 

...says, "dada" and "mama" now. I swear she has said, "hi," on a few occasions and at appropriate times, but it's not consistent.

...her eyes are turning a sort of bluish-green color.

....her hair is starting to darken and fill in more.

 

...we are still struggling with her wanting to eat solids, forget baby puree's she wants nothing to do with those. She will eat tiny bites of food from whatever I might be eating, but only a couple bites.  It's a little frustrating because I know she is hungry.

...still wakes up throughout the night to nurse. Thankfully, she doesn't ever stay awake.

We are going through ideas of what her first birthday theme will be, but nothing is set right now. It's going to be a tough year for all the kids' birthday's. My family has always been around for their birthday's. With us living in Montreal this is no longer possible. This year just won't be the same.

Oh Eliana, if you only knew how happy you make us! I love you lil' miss...so very very much :)

Eliana's 6 months old!

This is such a fun age and probably my favorite. They are still not quite mobile, but are becoming a little more independent.

 Current stats: 

Weight: 15lbs 6oz (25-50th percentile) 

Height: 25.78" long (25-50th percentile) 

Head circumference:  16.65" (25-50th percentile)

Clothing size: Wears 9mo & 6-12 month 

Shoe size: size 2 

At 6 months Eliana, 

 ...sits perfectly without support. 

 ...can scoot around the room while sitting. She can really get around if she is sitting on the hardwood. 

...babbles, screams and laughs so much and I'm pretty sure she has said mama a couple times. 

...she is at that age where Parker has fun sitting with her playing. They interact with each other and Parker will sing to her and play peek-a-boo. 

...we have started solids again. She struggles with the taste/texture of any of the baby cereals, so we moved on to fruits. She eats solids maybe every other day usually at dinner. I think I'm going to start giving them to her at breakfast as well. She eats extremely pureed bananas and apples so far. Any sort of texture and she gags and throws up.

...no teeth yet. She might be taking after Parker and will wait until 10 months until one pops up.

 

..she has discovered the kitty. I feel so bad for our cat, but he has such great patience with the little one's.
...she has discovered that if you bang two toys together it makes a loud sound, and she loves it.

 All around Eliana is such a happy baby. She is so smiley, and her temperament is pretty easy going. How did I get blessed with 3 beautiful and wonderful kids. Happy 6 months baby girl!

Eliana is 5 months old!

I'm so behind on this milestone post for Eliana! I don't even know where the last month went. I don't feel like I did very much. I couldn't believe that I'm already saying Eliana is 5 months old and now she is almost 6 months!

Current stats:

Weight: approx 15lbs (25-50th percentile)

  Height: approx 26.4" long (75-90th percentile)

Clothing size: Wears 3-6mo and 6-12 month

Shoe size: size 1 (she can finally fit into shoes)

Eliana @ 5 months...

....is sitting unassisted!! We still put pillows around her just in case since it's all hardwood floors here. 

... can switch from sitting to laying on her belly and I don't mean she falls forward. She will actually move herself from sitting to "trying to crawl" position. 

...can stand while holding onto stuff. 

...tries to crawl, but hasn't put everything together quite yet. I'm not ready for her to crawl. I would like her to be less mobile for a little longer, lol. 

...is starting to get upset when things are taken away from her. By object, I mean screaming loudly at you.

...still has no teeth, but I'm think soon?!? Seems to be teething like crazy, but nothing visible yet. 

...she has a pretty set routine for the day and doesn't like to sway from it at all. She is a lot like Parker was at this age. 

 

...starting once again on solids, slowly. She kept throwing up when we were giving her solids before, so we decided to wait. Since 4 months, Eliana has shown a big interest in what I'm eating and wanting to eat as well. We are hoping this time around, her tummy will be a little more accepting. 

...since Eliana is sitting very well, she is now able to use her bath ring to take baths. She loves it! Parker does too, lol. 

I can't believe how much she changed in just a couple of weeks! Her personality is in full bloom, she is becoming mobile. Next month we have decided to throw her a "1/2 birthday" party! Just family, but we thought it would be fun. Stay tuned for some pictures from that :)

Eliana is 3 months old!

Well, we've made it to Montreal! It's been a crazy week here including our little miss turning 3 months. Most moms of new baby's say this, but I don't like how fast time is going.

Current stats:

Weight: 12lbs 9oz (25-50th percentile)

  Height: 24" long (50-75th percentile)

Clothing size: Still wears 0-3months mostly,

but can wear some 3-6month clothing

Diapers: Size 2 in disposables. We haven't used cloth since a

couple weeks before our relocation.
 I hope she still fits in newborn cloth because

she doesn't have too many one size "girly" cloth diapers.

 

 

 

Eliana had a pretty good growth spurt, length wise, since her 2 month check-up. I was pretty surprised when her pediatrician told us she was 24" long at her last appointment. Compared to Parker at this age she is small. He was over 15lbs at 3 months. She has some little rolls on her arms and legs, but he was such a roly poly little baby.
 

At 3 months old...

...is sitting with the help of her boppy.
...has found her hands, and will sit for hours holding her hands. It's so cute.
...bats, grabs, and eats her toys. Her favorite toy is her birdy arches floor toy
...rolls from belly to back perfectly


...still has unbelievable blue eyes!! I think we are keeping them.
...she has the funniest bald stripe on her head. I tried to take a picture, but it didn't turn out. The bald stripe goes from ear to ear on the back of her head. It's adorable.




...loves when her brother plays with her.
...loves to talk to sister.
...coos, giggles and has such a big personality. When I watch the videos of Vanessa at the same age, they are very similar. Parker was sooo quiet and reserved.




...loves showers, and thanks to the AMAZING bath tub in our suite, loves to take baths with mommy.

...loves when mommy vacuums. Still the one sound that soothes her when she is upset.



This past month was so wonderful! As a family we had so many great experiences and Eliana had a lot of firsts. Here's to another great month. Love you baby girl. xoxoxo
