Parker is two and a half!!

I seriously wanted to post this last Friday, as that is when Parker officially turned 2.5 years old! He such a little man now, and in full blown terrible two's. Parker, though good 95% of the time, can drive you pretty crazy. That 5% is enough some days to put you in the looney bin. Just kidding, but seriously he is one strong willed little guy.

Current stats:
Weight: approx 27lbs (10-25th percentile)
Height: approx 34" long (5th percentile)
Clothing size: Wears 3T/4T clothing
Diapers: Potty training!!

Parker has really been changing the past few months. He has such a HUGE vocabulary, he's nearly fully potty trained and he learning some social skills since we are around kids a lot more than he ever has been. Parker is still adjusting to the move. He will ask to see people he is used to seeing regularly and doesn't understand why he can't...like Grandma and Grandpa. Thankfully, Vanessa has been keeping in constant touch with them via Skype.

Parker @ 2.5 years old...

...loves to ride the "bus choo choo" and the Metro. I thought we would be more sedentary with having to use public transport to get around. In fact, it's been the exact opposite. We still go out all the time. We have a park about a 2 minute walk from our house, stores that are a quick bus ride away, and friends that we visit pretty frequently. So happy that we didn't have to do this relocation alone.

...sleeps in his own room once again. We finally put his new beds together. We decided to let him have his own room right now. It's decorated in all cars/trains. It works better to have Eliana in our room anyway.

 photo ParkerandEliana3_zps313ff912.jpg

...is potty training and nearly 100% trained. We are working on getting him to go potty when he is fully dressed wearing undies. If we let him run around naked he never has an accident, not even poop. We don't have to continually ask him if he has to go potty. He just runs to the potty on his own and goes. He will even hold it through the night, but we have to be diligent on getting him to the potty first thing.  Being out and about is a little different (basically any time he is wearing clothing.) Parker doesn't seem to get the concept of taking of his pants and undies to go. So that is our next step.

...still naps once a day, usually about 2-3 hours, thank goodness!
...favorite drinks are water and milk.
...favorite foods are apples, pizza, french fries, bananas, and yogurt.
...favorite toys are still his cars and trains.
...when Parker sleeps he has to have Scout, Lucy (his glow worm,) Toby, and a handful of cars/trucks/trains.
...loves not having to be in his carseat, but quickly disliking the stroller.
...loves the snow. Parker calls it the "snowman."
...speaks in full sentences, and asks a lot of questions. It's so cute how much he talks.
...counts to 11, in English...hahaha!
...recognizes the colors yellow, red, black, white, blue and orange.
...says "Bonjour," "Si vous plais" and "Merci." So he is starting to catch on to a little French.

...is still very cuddly. Although he is going through a tough "independent" stage, he still needs his momma. I'm still working on those cues, because I think not having 100% attention is the biggest trigger to some of his behavior issues.

...loves his sisters! He's very close to Vanessa, but he's loving the attention Eliana is starting to give him. Eliana just adores him. She watches his every move and Parker can really make her laugh.

Parker is becoming an amazing little guy. How I ever exist without him. I love you so very much, my little Prince :)

Parker is 17 months old

I did miss posting Parker's 16 month post. It's not that I didn't have much to post about Parker, but our new year has started off very busy. I kept putting the post off and putting it off until it was the 20th and I figured I would just wait and post it all in his 17 month post.

Stats:
weight: 20 lbs
height: 30.5"
clothing size: 18-24 months
shoe size: 5

Parker had a good growth spurt this past month. Not sure his height, but when I measure him, really quickly, it's around 30.5" According to the Wii fit, Parker lost a pound or so. We have been weighing him on the Wii fit since he was born, so we find it pretty accurate. He is such a busy little guy that I'm not surprised that he is really thinning out.

He is starting to look like a little boy, instead of a baby. I love these recent pictures of him.

Parker has picked up a lot of signs the past couple of months. He can now sign around 15 words. He's not perfect with all of them, like he uses his finger instead of thumb when signing mommy or daddy. He doesn't sign "more" perfectly, but the point is that he is able to communicate to us when he needs something.

Signs Parker knows:
Mommy
Daddy
all done/finished
wash
brush teeth
brush hair
eat
more
please
thank you
thirsty
hungry
milk
dog
dirty
change

We are teaching him:
cracker
stop
cat
ball
play
toy
share
pain/hurt
book
help

The outdoor season has arrived in the Valley of the Sun. It has been a beautiful 75 degrees for a couple of weeks now. It allows for more outdoor time including taking Parker to the Zoo and riding around in his Pirate ship.

The weather was so beautiful we didn't even realize that we had been at the zoo for over 6 hours.

14 months old!

We've survived another month! I will tell you Parker has learned a new skill that keeps me at my wits end....screaming. Nothing could have ever prepared me for the level of shrill this little guy's voice can reach. If someone is casting a movie that needs a toddler who can scream, this is your guy.

Photobucket

I'm not sure why, or what started Parker screaming. My daughter never screamed like this, she was such a quiet child. My only recourse is to ignore Parker while he is screaming as I absolutely don't want this behavior to continue.

14 month stats

weight: down a couple pounds to 20lbs...probably due to all the walking he does now.
height: no change since last month.
clothing: no change since last month.

Instead of people telling me how big Parker is, now everyone thinks Parker is a 9 month old. He is a pretty small guy. All that major growing he did as a baby has come to a halt.

Photobucket

Parker this month:

-extremely stubborn.
-learned screaming, unfortunately.
-will eat off the table with no hands, must get this from watching the kitties eat.
-loves to share his snacks and is insistent that he feed the snacks to you.

Photobucket

Parker is still nursing though he is slowly weaning himself, he only eats about 3 times during the day and a couple times throughout the night. I was a little worried last month about how I was going to wean him because he seemed to still want to nurse more than eat solids. This month he has made some great progress with weaning all on his own.

Photobucket

-loves to eat yogurt, cereal and his veggie puffs and that's about it. Occasionally he will eat peas, meats and toast.

Though Parker has his off times, he is so loving. He will sit and cuddle with me during the day. He always wants me to read him books. Parker gives the best hugs and kisses. When you walk through the door and he hasn't seen you for awhile, he runs to you smiling. It just melts your heart when he does this.

-has the cutest laugh.
-loves, loves, loves to be outdoors. He would stay outdoors all day long if I let him.
-loves to show you his tongue.

Photobucket

There are so many times I just sit and watch Parker play and I so wish I could know what he was thinking. He gets so intense when he is playing with his toys.

Photobucket

Parker is so enthralled by the world around him, he points to everything in amazement. I think this has a lot to do with why he likes to be outdoors so much. There is a lot more interesting things to look at outside.

Happy 14 months little man! I love you so much.

Rockin' the baby

You will probably see a lot of posts from here on out talking about Parker's first birthday. While I'm on a budget, I still want to go all out. I've been making a lot of his decorations and one of his decorations will be photo collages of Parker for each month. I plan on hanging them "clothesline style" but, still haven't quite worked out the details on it.

I also wanted to join in on the "Rockin' the Baby" linky that other bloggers are doing this week. Oh, how this gave me baby fever. It is so amazing how much Parker has changed and how fast it happened. I remember each of these pictures like I took them yesterday. Anyhow, enjoy! :)
