Catching up....(29, 30,31/365) POTW-21 weeks

Parker and I have been sick the past few days so I haven't had the energy to post on the blog, so I'm playing catch up today!

Another week has drawn to close and Parker is another week older. My favorite photo for this week is a picture of my two babies. I love how much my daughter has connected with Parker. Sometimes you never know how another child will respond to a new baby in the household, especially since Vanessa has been the one and only child for almost 11 years. She is wonderful with him and wants to help out a lot. I hope they will continue to be close and cherish each other as much as they do now.

Food Disaster! (27,28/365)

I have been debating feeding solids to Parker for sometime now. With his reflux and his prematurity I wasn't sure if he was ready. Well, I had received a free coupon in the mail for a box of baby cereal and some baby food jars from Beechnut, so I decided maybe we could give some cereal a try.

Here is the fun we had....

Day 1

Parker's first food..Love how the box emphasizes "gentle texture."

Parker: "Mommy, this is exciting! What are we going to play?"
Me: "Yay! Parker gets to eat his first food!

Photobucket

Parker: "I'm not liking this game very much."
Me: "Doesn't that taste yummy Parker? Mmmmmm..."

Photobucket

Parker: "WAhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Me: " Are you sure you don't want to try one more bite?"

Here is his reaction on video.

Make sure your speakers aren't set too high...Parker is loud

Day 2

Photobucket

Parker: "Mommy, this is exciting! What are we going to play?" (lol, short-term memory)

Me(with enthusiasm): "Ok, lets try this again Parker."

Photobucket

Parker: "I don't know, all this seems eerily familiar."
Me: " See, that doesn't taste too bad."

Parker: "WAhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Me: "Okay, Okay. I'm sorry, no more oatmeal..."

"D" is for Dragonfly (25/365)

I love days like today. Parker and I slept until 10am, which doesn't happen too often. We got to relax on the couch and watch some T.V. I was able to finish up 3 more pairs of baby leggings for him to wear, he is wearing one of the pair in these pictures. Parker started sitting on his own yesterday, instead of just tripod sitting. He's even grabbing for things and keeping his balance. He also started to do this funny, caterpillar looking crawl to get around.

He was so tired after all this he passed out in his crib...he never sleeps in there!

"C" is for Caterpillar (Week 20, 24/365) POTW

Another beautiful day outdoors hanging out with Parker. I will continue to brag about the wonderful weather here because I know in a few months it will be too hot to go outdoors...expect for to swim.

Tomorrow he turns 21 weeks, another day closer to being 5 months old.

I chose this first photo for "picture of the week." I love how he put his hand on mine while I was reading the card to him.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday (23/365)

1. Memories
Tiff-nails[1]
I went the route of taking a picture of a picture I had when I was younger. This was a fond memory of mine. We were on vacation in California, my first time to Disneyland and the night before my Aunt Dee painted my nails. I'm sort of a nail biter so I didn't paint my fingernails...ever, but I loved how pretty my nails looked in this photo.

2. Silhouette
silhoutteParker is addicted to these swings. It's funny because he couldn't stand being in the baby swing. I'm guessing he has a lot more to look at when we are outdoors.

3. Doorway(s)
doorwayI struggled with this one. This week I wrote down all the scavenger hunt items days ahead of time, which I hadn't been doing. We have a boring doorway and so does everywhere we visited the last couple of days. I went everywhere looking for a doorway picture. I love this photo but it's a little bit of a stretch for the "doorway" assignment. This was right before Parker and daddy slid down the slide. Parker is still a little scared of slides, so he wasn't too happy a few seconds after this shot.

4. Reflections
reflections
I love my crazy cat! I knew that this was the picture I wanted to use the moment I saw him doing this.

5. Silver

This is a ring holder I bought for my daughter a few years ago. It was the cutest holder I had ever seen. I found him stashed in the back of her closet a few weeks ago and rescued him from the clutter.

New Friends (22/365)

We took Parker to the zoo for the first time to meet up with some other babies born the same month as Parker. They had so much fun together! The girls even had Parker giggling and flirting.

Aren't babies hands so precious!

B is for Blackbird (21/365)

I liked the way the sun was coming into the window. It may be a bit streaky, but I think it's pretty.

The Letter "A" (20/365)

I bought these really cute alphabet flash cards and my intent was to eventually hang them on the nursery wall. I actually ended up forgetting about having them until today when I was cleaning his closet. I decided I would use them to help with my 365 day photo challenge by using a letter a day as a starting point for my posts.

Parker may not completely understand what he's looking at when I'm showing him these cards but he does enjoy the funny voices I have when I do.

He also made some artwork for his Grandpa & Grandma in Idaho.

Using Photoshop (18/365)

I have been so afraid to play around with photoshop. I normally upload my photo into picnik and click a few buttons and out pops a pretty photo. I finally took the plunge today and used photoshop. It's a bit intimidating but with all the tutorials on the web I managed to fumble my way through it. I'm proud of myself =)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday (week 19, 17/365) POTW

Another week has gone by and on top of that today marks the one year anniversary of me finding out I was pregnant with Parker. What an amazing journey we have been through together this past year.

I was having troubles figuring out pictures for "Scavenger Hunt Sunday" so I'm a little late posting mine.

1. A Different View

I realize this is not the best picture. I only had the time it takes for the stoplight to turn green to capture a good picture...and yes I do have a HUGE crack in my windshield.

2. Looking Up

Parker has already learned to roll from belly to back and is now practicing back to belly. He caught me taking pictures. I also chose this picture for my picture of the week. It's amazing how much he changes in just a week.

3. Abstract

I was stuck on what to use for my abstract photo then tonight I found my cat playing with my sewing pins and it struck me that it would make a interesting photo.

4. Hair

Trying to take my day 17 photo with Parker when he decided to grab my hair.

5. Half

This was another challenge for me. I was trying to find something different then what a lot of other people had already done. I had pretty much given up and started to get Parker ready for a bath when his shirt became stuck on his head, it struck me that this would be perfect.

He was having more fun than me with this....
